mazda3 HB owners..

Any here have a 3 HB with a bike rack? if so, what kind of rack did you get? roof? trunk? hitch?

Don't need a bike rack. A bike fits with both wheels on with rear seats folded.

If you want extrernal rack, you'll have to go with hitch or roof, because trunk rack won't work due to the spoiler.
But unless you need to put 3 people in with bikes, I would just fold the rear sears and put it in the back.

but a rack is far easier to manage than mangling your bike into the back. And not all bikes are the same.

Hmmm...according to Thule, their 960 series of trunk racks will work...may have to try that. I would want to get a roof rack, but i am kind of scared that I may scratch the car when I try puttign the bikes on the roof.

I need to transport 2 bikes, so the fold down hatch is not an option.

Well, my road bike fits there too. Worst comes to worst, you may need to take the wheel off if handlebar is too high, but probably not.
Anyways, the problem with a trunk style rack is that you can't hook it on top because of the spoiler being there, unless you have MS3, which has a gap between spoiler that you can pass the straps under. So if you don't want roof rack, I'd go with a hitch one.You may also be able to fit both bikes inside if you take wheels off. I haven't tried it yet, since noone wants to go biking with me
