Mazda RX-8?

Wow. This car is something else!!!

Saw my first one today at the grocery store...brand-spankin new with temp tags, in a bright, slippery red with the full Meguires treatment! I thought the whole 4-door sports coupe concept was stupid for who this car is marketed towards (RX7 audience?) Anyway, it looks a HELLUVA lot better in person! Kinda stood there for awhile staring at it...and I wasn't the only one staring. Very nice...and not too expensive either I imagine.

/me wonders when Mazda will complete their new lineup with a new RX-7 and a replacement for their MX-5 Miata.
 
Mazda is doing well, in my eyes. I love the Mazda 6. They really hithome with that car. As for the Mada RX-8. Let me know when it has the aftermarket like the RX7, or better yet, like the Supra and maybe I'll be interested. It's an extremely nice looking car, but I want pure speed.


I saw the new Lambargini (sp?) yesterday. I forget the name, starts with a D. Supposed to be a step up (or was it down?) from the Marcellago...now that made me cream my pants!
 
mazda is actually doing pretty poorly, the mazda6 isn't selling all that well, which was exacerbated by the fact that they underprojected sales of the V6 version by quite a bit. they're supposed to be well short of the 70,000 projected sales of it. i don't think the RX8 is doing so well either. really the best thing going for mazda is that the 6 is supposed to be the basis for up to 10 models at ford, including the replacement for the taurus.

The Gallardo is lower than the Murcielago which replaced the Diablo... nice cars... but not my type even if i had the money. 🙂

I wouldn't buy a lamborghini either, but not to say I haven't drooled the two times I've actually seen them in real life. Almost define the phrase "Exotic automobile".

where's the sales figures for the 6?
 
The whole third door thing ruins it for me. Reminds me too much of a Saturn. Although I am really glad they brought back the Rotary engine. The 3rd gen 7's are one of the most beautiful cars ever to come out of Japan.
 
I don't care much for the RX-8... Something on the front end and the fenders just don't look right. I'm interested in seeing how the tuners do with the car though. I wanna see a rotary turbo'd pumpin' out over 400 hp 😀 That motor design should be a lot stronger than the old one was.

Well they moved the exhaust port... i don't know if it'll be turbo friendly but i guess we'll see... the old 13B wasn't but boy when that sucker works... not many cars can match the driving experience. 😀
