Mayweather gets owned on an ESPN interview

put a boxer in mma and he gets owned. put an mma fighter in boxing he gets owned. quit it with the bullshit. anyway, boxing is at least a real sport

Anderson is one of the most overrated dudes ever, BORING AS FUCK to watch. After his last 2 fights Dana should let him go. I know Dana's on the fence considering it. If you're not going to fight Anderson, at least showboat around the ring and give me something to watch. His match against Lateus(sp?) was one of the worst fights ever. In a boxing ring Mayweather would knock A Silva out in about 20 seconds. Silva has a few boxing matches to his name, and he's definitely not a good fighter unless M.T. is involved. Silva has went on and on about wanting to fight a boxer in a boxing match. When Dana cuts him I would pay anything to see Mayweather shut him the fuck up. Dude might be top MMA, but for him to think his striking is Boxing worthy? lol

Mayweather is the man, he maybe got owned in this interview, but he's worth what $200 millions (and growing)

Boxing is dieing. The biggest names in the game are all retiring or retired. Once the old boxing foggies die-off, it wont get near the PPV draws it does now.

And it isnt because boxing is a bad sport, it is beautiful to watch a good fight. But they are killing themselves with the split belts, poor marketing, selfish promoters, and no stars.

@ Quebert: You obviously dont know what you are talking about. Dana is not going to let Silva go. He is going to start putting him up against better fighters, (Light heavy-weights)

He didnt say boxer, he said "fighter". Boxing is a long way off from a fight.

And then MMA came along and did exactly the same thing.

you see, in boxing, they call the athletes "fighters" because they are competing in something we call a "fight"

neither boxing or mma are exactly what you would see in a street fight.

Why? So you can watch two guys lay on the floor squeezing each other in different ways in which you can barely figure out if any activity is even taking place?

No, I'd rather watch a sport where guys punch each other once, clinch, have to be sep'ed by the ref, repeat x 100000000000000000000 then finally win on points.

It's also great that boxing has 50 different organizations, because honestly, why do we want to know who the real champion is?

boxing is dying/dead because they have no heavyweight superstars. i can name a bunch of retired heavyweight fighters, but not one current. the vast majority of people are only interested in the heavyweight fights.

mma > boxing because mma is interesting across all weight classes to a broad audience, has better personalities, does a better job of marketing (clothing, reality series, etc)
