The average person who's not a DC politician themselves or working for one will have more in common with a guy like this regardless of what political party either belongs to. A small town city mayor like Buttigieg deals with the same kinds of problems you or me deal with instead of whether filibusters should be allowed or we should shut down government for 35 days over a wall.

The problem with being President is that you have to be able to be compassionate to kitchen table issues, able to sit at the big kid table on the international stage, and know how to deal with the toddler table in DC trying to ruin your meal. Not many people are able to do all three.

Yeah, he sounds decent. I think where he will lack is in the charisma and passionate speech - Which to be honest, I don't give a shit about. Thats only something the majority of low intelligence voters care about.

If I care about charisma ability to speak because I think a lot of voters care about charisma and ability to speak...does that make me a low intelligence voter?

There is a difference between Charisma, charm, and a general ability to speak. He has a general ability to speak no doubt. He is clearly not nervous and seems well on point the whole time.

But yes, if you base your voting with the charisma and ability to rile up a crowd as a top 10 credential then you're just a moron. Sorry. Your ability to know how to effectively address the largest economy, foreign policy, commanding the military, working with the parties, etc.. etc.. come WAY ahead of those other "nice to haves"

Charisma at the end of the day is what does shit like fool people into not having criticism on passing shit like "The Patriot Act" - it's basically a slight form of lying.

Yeah I too was impressed by this guy. Heard his interview on NPR the other day. Dude taught himself Norwegian and Arabic. I am definitely cool with putting brains back into the White House. Going from an intellect like Obama to a dementia riddled moron and traitor like Trump has been hard to watch.

Pretty much agree with this. Would only qualify it by saying that if you already favor several candidates on substantive grounds - basically competence and policy - then viewing populist electability as a positive for primary voting does make sense. If OTOH that is the main reason you support a candidate, then you're a moron.

I wasn't aware that lower intelligence voters also have higher than average income?

(Hint: Because they don't. Income correlates fairly well with IQ. Nice try broceritops)

And I wasn't aware that intelligence (or education as a more measurable statistic) was necessarily a direct correlation to income.

You can have a masters degree teacher making 60k or a high school graduate tradesman making 80k with overtime.

But anywhoo...regardless of income, my state of Kentucky broke heavily for Trump in the most rural areas and those are some of the poorest areas of the country. Same for red states across the south and rural areas of IL and the midwest. The uneducated white went heavy for Trump.

Aww, c'mon. Charisma & passionate speech is all there is to Trump. Con artistes all have charisma of some sort. He's the best there ever was in this country, plain & simple.

Hit 'em in their blind spots, their erroneous zones. Bamboozled the living shit out of 'em.

They likely will again if millenials and Gen X'ers forget to show up and vote.

We got Trump because people were tired of being called racists by a terrorist supporter that loved being flexible for Russia and Hillary was shouting "Hold my beer!".
