This thread is helpful. It allows me to know my fellow mayo-lovers, an honorable and true bunch of upstanding people. And it lets me collect the names of the other people and put them on a list...

Addendum to OP: If it's white in color, it's not real mayonnaise.

Of course, then you have to make it yourself, and you'll have leftover egg whites. Then you can make a white cake.

Mayonnaise is awesome on toast, but it's too unhealthy to actually eat such a delicious thing! 😛

EDIT:

Most people tend to reel back a bit when I mention mayo + toast though. 🙁

At a time when I was trying to gain weight, I would get a loaf of Wonder Bread and a jar of Miracle Whip. I would schmear the Miracle Whip heavy on one slice of bread and eat it. I would almost finish the jar of Miracle Whip for the loaf of bread. Along with that a 2 liter of Coke. Yes, I gained weight and it was GOOD!!!

Is it risky making mayo from scratch, or would the vinegar or lemon juice kill all the potentially harmful bacteria?

The food chain just isn't the same these days as when rocky balboa drank a glassful of raw eggs.

there is less than a 1% chance of consuming anything dangerous from raw egg yolk.
