I believe the Max shooter is a clone of the XFPS, which is garbage. If you want an actual functional KB/M input device look into the XIM360. http://xim360.com/

I've have the XFPS, the original XIM (which used the XFPS to hook up to the 360), and the XIM360. The XIM360 is as close as you can get to the real thing, meaning gaming on a PC. It essentially lets you use any device hooked up to your computer in place of the 360 controller.

I've got an XFPS 360 but I've never actually used it for KB/M. I bought it to use a PS2 controller with fighter games.

The XIM looks pretty good but does your PC have to be near your 360? My pc is in a different room...

I heard that the XIM 2 was the best money could buy for converting keyboard and mouse movements to xbox 360.

The problem is it's like 200 dollars used, and 300+ new on Ebay. Not sure where else you can get it but one of my friends had one he sold for 200 used on ebay and said it worked perfectly

i actually just got my xim2 in today.

I LOVE IT. i bought the maxshooter last week. it was complete trash.

as of right now they are out of pre-built units. HOWEVER, if you go find the compatible controller you can do the 'send-in' method for$150 and they will put the xim chip in there and send it back.

the compatible controllers are hard to find but my BB has a few left. i bought an xbox strictly for MW2 and the xim is hands down the best you'll get. come beat me in FFA. won 4 matches straight the first time i hooked it up.

That kind of sucks. I bought mine during the first couple of weeks they were offering the prebuilt ones.

You saw someone selling a "new" XIM360 for $300? I wonder how anyone could tell a new from a used XIM360. It's not like they're packaged in anything other than a box with some bubble wrap and the controllers themselves aren't actually used in the equation either..

if you can't afford an xim2 PLEASE don't waste your money on the xfps, maxshooter, sniper, etc. they have this 'deadzone' problem where small precise(like sniping and aiming quick) movements aren't detected at all.

find a compatible controller(i can send you one from my BB) for $40ish and $149.99 for the xim2 and you'll be in love with it. love mine.

It looks awesome I may just have to get one. I suppose I could use my minipc to hook it up to the 360. Does their program work in XP/win7?

i'm using xp home with no problems. they have support threads for people with win 7, just look around. XP is super simple.

Yes, I saw someone selling one for around $300 on ebay. Of course it's a rip, but I saw it and it was marked as "new" as opposed to the other ones which were marked "used" and ranged from $180-$200.

I have a XIM1 that I use with a PS3. Its only $80, and it works with the 360 provided you have a XFPS or Max shooter, which I also unfortunately have. Getting the sensitivity just right is a chore. I played Bad Company 2 Beta for a couple of hours, endured countless deaths just to get it feeling decent. Its still not like on a PC, but much better than using analog sticks. I still need to fine tune it over the holiday break. One thing that threw off my calibration was my mouse. The higher dpi mouse you use changes the behavior of the settings dramatically. Also enhanced acceleration in Windows. And with so many variables in the XIM app itself, its hard to see how everything is related.

Max Shooter maybe trash when trying to do custom configs, but the sensitivity adjustments via the wheels worked very well.

Another xim360 user here. If you are a hardcore PC gamer, it definitely takes a bit of tweaking to find that perfect configuration, but once you get it on the money, it's worth it's weight in gold.

I merely bought it because I know at least 10 people who have MW2 for the 360, yet no one I know has it for the PC.

The only downside? The whole console atmosphere is a let down if you've been a PC gamer all your life. People are too easy to kill, they usually sit an entire map behind a window. This would change if MS made a keyboard and mouse an official accessory, but we all know that won't ever happen.

I don't play online with my XIM360, the main reason being that I have no interest in paying for a Live gold account. I use it for single player games only.

IMO, the XIM doesn't give you any huge advantage over a controller. It really depends on how you learned to play video games. There are kids using controllers that could wipe the floor with me and my XIM. The fact that there are more sucky FPS players on the console side is mainly due to the market being so over saturated with players of all abilities, where on the PC side you have a larger hardcore crowd who have been playing these types of games for a lot longer.

Well found a controller at the local WalMart that is compatible. I will be sending it off tomorrow. All of the reviews here make the XIM sound like what I was looking for.

In tight environments, I can see how an XIM woudln't give a huge advantage over the controller.

However, in open ended maps, you can make shots halfway across the map in a split second (Derail and especially Wasteland come to mind) due to the precise control a mouse offers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but all controller users also have auto aim right?

I'm conflicted.

I want to throw all of you in with the same jackasses that use dual 1887's or the latest glitch to gain an advantage. I mean, $200 extra to get an advantage over someone with a controller? Kind of lame.

In the Quake 2 days (1998) I was in a hardcore clan that played in tournaments. Then the clans we started to play against started to pay hundreds of dollars a month to get cable back before it was commonplace. And the LPBs were born and us HPBs just had to get better. You learned to lead your targets to account for 320ms pings. You adapted, not went out and spent more than the cost of your computer on a modified controller.

So if you are a old school KB/M player like I was, you just need to get better at the controller. Ask any of the peeps in the CODMW2 thread I've played against, I still wreck shop.

Im not doing this for an advantage. I've been playing FPSs on the PC for years now and don't feel like learning on the controller. I despise and hate FPSs on the controller, its a step backwards for FPSs to me.

Hell they (game makers) should be happy I am doing this, I would never play FPSs on the console otherwise. Now I will buy some FPS games and they will be get more profit. Afterall it seems like that all game makers care about now.
