We're getting off topic here, but there are numerous studies that show the prevalence of racism in employment even today, so you might want to rein in some of that pity party.

If you are a white male who grew up in a mostly white schools then move to the city then you should not be a cop.
Because I am a military brat and moved around so often I have been to 16 different schools across USA and I am not scared of black men at all. I've been to 2 schools that were 80% black and I had no issues. As a group black people do not have a problem at all.

It is the lone wolf who prey on people and I have met those as well and it is just s of today there are so many lone wolf mentality types that more and more black people support them which crazy.

They should do this. Why? They will then find out that even when minority cops police high crime neighborhoods that they also become conditioned to profile and stereotype the people that live there. It is a occupational conditioning, not racial.

This seems like a really bad precedent, because by extension now black cops can't police white neighborhoods.

If white males were not police officers, there would not be enough police officers. There are not enough willing participants among blacks that would even qualify to be a police officer with no criminal record and can pass a drug test.

let me guess.. you also want it so that only white officers can arrest white people, black officers arrest black people only, hispanic officers arrest only hispanics...?

basically in your world, if a police officer witnesses a crime or violation, if the suspect is of a different race, that officer is not allowed to intervene..

just come clean, you want black officers in black neighborhoods because you have the false impression that those officers will let the residents get away with the "stupid shit"* that they feel the white officers are harassing them about doing.

If we did as the OP suggested then what would those communities have left to rationalize away their failures? At this point having "racist cops" as an excuse is about the only face saving measure left for them.

It is not like most police departments don't try to recruit minorities for jobs. It is hard to become a police officer. You have to be physically fit, mentally sane, drug free, with no criminal record. We have the same problem in other occupations. However, I see a lot of Black people that work in Nursing and Medical clerical workers fields. Maybe they want a job where people are not shooting at them.
