I spoke via IM to dxkj this afternoon....never spoke with him before, I am not even sure I haven't flamed him in the past.

He contacted me to apoligize....I wasn't even affected by his .9999 outburst, which I think is sort of funny....but I mentioned to him like Kevin Mitnick you overlooked some damages 🙂

He was also worried that the 'copycat' is going to make him look more guilty (which it's typical for a banned person to come back and make trouble as a n00b)....however I sort of believe him as he had a pretty eventless haul on his rather long time here on AT...I mean 2001 and 6196 posts later (minus the NEF's 😉 ) I really think he wasn't trying to be the asshat everyone is making him out to be. Just didn't think the 'joke' through.

I really don't think ATOTgeek was/is dxkj...however I am pretty sure it's someone that he affected that 'knows the ropes' here.

I know a lot of boards have 1 email per thread until you return to prevent this kind of spam...the people that really suffer is the board's bandwidth and resources that now have 100's of emails per subscribed member to route.

I personally think that the Mods need a better way to handle this kind of thing. It has been proven in two threads now that all one needs to do to kill a thread is to bomb it with a bunch of posts. If there was a large thread I wanted to die (movie trivia, ATOT goodnight, 1=0.9999..., etc) all I would have to do is go to the public library and spam it with a fake account. I think this is unacceptable. dxkj knew what he was doing and that he would probably get a vacation. ATOTgeek saw the results and knew he could get away with it anonymously, i.e. with no consequences.

If I was being rash I would equate it to thread terrorism. 😉
