Maybe silly question, but what is TV/out used for?

Is it for maybe watching MPEG's on your television, or maybe DVD playback? I seemed to rememeber someone mentioning watching cable television from your pc, but doesn't that require a TV in/out?

TV-out is so that you can use that big 27" TV you have as a monitor and impress all your friends 😀. It can also be used for demos and stuff like that, so everyone in the room can see what you're doing.

As for watching cable TV, what you need for that is a TV tuner card, with a coax or S-video in port. These aren't generally found on standard video cards; ATI's All-in-Wonder line is best known for this type of card.

Hope this helps!

Video out+31"t.v.+music video's+winamp+playing Q3 on the TV= impressed friends. I have quite a few music vids, and I like playing Motocross Madness2 on my tv. Pretty cool, and doesn't look too shabby @ 800x600
