Maybe dumb question: Systems reboots when running 3DMark

Okay, I am assuming this is happening because I have a crappy ATi Rage Fury 32mb. This card has been great for what I need, but it doesn't seem to do well with the latest 3D games. I am starting to get into 3D games, especially FPS.

Well, I just built my P4 1.6A w/ Gigabyte 8SRX, and OC'ed it to 2.3GHz with good stability. Ran Prime95 for hours, no errors. But every time I run 3DMarks, it either quits the benchmark, or just reboots my system. The only time I ran it through, I got a laughable score of 760.

So you guys think my Rage Fury can't handle 3DMarks? Or do you think my OC is causing the reboots?

i dont mean to be mean or anything but you spent that much on a system, why dont you go at least upper midrange on a video card?

have you tried not OCing your system and trying it?
what version of 3dmark are u running? 2000, or 2001

It's most likely the overclock that's killing it. The only other thing that might be affecting it is the memory timings. My GF3 Ti200 can't handle the FSB overclock on top of the core/mem overclock. Try a faster card or lower memory timings.

Don't worry, you can be mean. I deserve it with a crappy card like that. I never considered myself much of a gamer until I started to play Counter-Strike about 6 months ago. This card runs most 2D games like Starcraft just fine, so it does exactly what I need it to do. But I am seriously looking into a video card now. Looking into Radeon 64mb VIVO, because I have been look for a card with VIVO capabilities.

I haven't tried it without OC. The 3dmark I am using is the latest one, just downloaded from www.madonion.com.
