Maybe a heat issue with my x1900xt?

When I scan for artifacts, my core gets up to about 66C after two minutes.

I'm running an Accelero S1 with the extra cooling fans strapped to the top of it. The airflow in my case seems to be alright.

What could be the issue here?

66C should be fine. Maybe step your OC down a bit?

If it's not OC'd, could be defective.

It isn't OC'd at all, unfortunately.

Interesting to note though - it's been hot lately. Really hot. I haven't been running the air just yet and yesterday the ambient temps around the computer (and in my room in general, sadly) were about 89F. Yuck.

As of this morning when the ambient temps were around 70F or so, ATI tool ran just fine.
