I'm I missing something? On Amazon the old 7970 Lightning is selling for considerably more than the new, much better(as far as I knew) 7970 lightning BE. Why is that?

Old stock? Many times retailers just don't change prices or they have so much into the old product they don't feel they can charge less. It's hard to take a loss. Then again when trying to price used stuff ill google it. Often I find prices more than the item retailed for 3 years ago. Even see Craigslist people reference these pricees when often the NEW item can be found new cheaper elsewhere.

Newer one is sold by Amazon. Older one is sold by other sellers through Amazon Marketplace.
