Maybe 9 year old girls shouldn't hold uzis after all.

PSA, guns are dangerous and extreme care is required.

9 year old... automatic... yeah, negligence caught up with that instructor.

What parents were thinking about when they were bringing a 9yo girl to learn how to use a gun? And what kind of instructor was willing to give a gun to a child? Careless parents+careless instructor equals to a horrible horrible ending. Very sorry about the outcome of this accident.

All kidding aside, that poor kid is going to be fucked up for a very, very long time. Screw the guy who got his head blown off. This little girl is the real victim.

people keep saying the uzi was automatic, I'm pretty sure automatic weapons aren't legal unless grandfathered. Semi auto yes but not full auto.
Doesn't have to be SA, a local range to me is getting class 3 FA's (I guess those are what you refer to as grandfathered?) pretty soon. You can actually own one if two conditions are met; the local CLEO personally signs off (complete with fingerprinting and extensive BGC's), and you pay the exorbitant levy established in 1934.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with allowing a kid to learn to shoot a weapon. However, you don't give them an automatic. And personally, I wouldn't let them use a semi-automatic either. Further, you need to be careful with the caliber (or how much the rifle/gun kicks), keeping in mind basic conservation of momentum. I guarantee that if my kids, when little, attempted to hit a target shooting a 3" magnum deer slug or 3" turkey load in a 12 gauge, they'd hit the target, and there's absolutely no way to know which way the gun would be pointed after that shot. Must likely upward, with the child on the ground on his back, if he kept control of the gun.
I agree, bolt action and wheelguns I thought was the rule of thumb for kids. The Walther P22 might be a good way to intro into teaching them, but they normally lack the strength to reliably cycle SA's even with a positive grip.

uhhh, at 8 or 9 years old you should stick to bolt action .22's until you can figure out how to use a real gun.

I am really confused as to why you would give a loaded gun to an 8 year old, especially when you are in the process of training them on how to fucking use it!

It is people like this that give responsible adults a bad name!

She probably read this first.

This made me think of a video I saw once, this one, in which a kid kills his father.

Is that real? I'm not sure a little kid could pull the trigger on a gun like that. Seems like that would have flooded the news too.

That poor 9 year old girl. Now she has to live with the trauma of accidentally killing someone for the rest of her life.

Pretty much this, everyone else was acutely aware of the potential consequences. Fucking idiots, every one of them. Parents, instructors, all of them.

Won't happen to me! I'm a responsible ATOT adult who never fucks up cause my shit is awesome! You guys sound like a bunch of self righteous assholes.

Yes, yes it was. People on the thread are slow on the uptake but Bullets and Burgers offers folks the opportunity to fire full auto weapons, including belted weapons.
