She hit, but Darwin missed.
I'd say there oughta be a law, but unless we're going to start gassing stupid people there's really only so much that can be done.
I have to wonder what went through that instructor's head, though, that made them think that would be a good idea.
Classic.
They won't let a kid under some height get on a ride at the amusement park, but someone will hand a 9-year-old an Uzi.
pretty sure it was an uzi bullet.
9mm?
A professional absolutely should have known better, but the parents share a healthy portion of the blame. I guess we can call it one for three, but that's still 66% fail.I'd say Darwin identified the problem gene fairly accurately.
Hmm, I find this statement probably lacks validity:
what is "something like this"? A child having a problem controlling a fully automatic weapon? Really, that's a rarity?
OK.
...I wonder how many instances of "something [exactly] like this" do lead to such tragedies. Maybe it is a rare occurrence because, I don't know, most people aren't dumbfuck enough to hand a loaded Uzi to an 8 year-old; because 100% of the time they do that, an accident happens.

Fixed that for you.I am really confused as to why you would give a loaded automatic weapon to an 8 year old, especially when you are in the process of training them on how to fucking use it!
It is people like this that give responsible adults a bad name!
This. There's absolutely nothing wrong with allowing a kid to learn to shoot a weapon. However, you don't give them an automatic. And personally, I wouldn't let them use a semi-automatic either. Further, you need to be careful with the caliber (or how much the rifle/gun kicks), keeping in mind basic conservation of momentum. I guarantee that if my kids, when little, attempted to hit a target shooting a 3" magnum deer slug or 3" turkey load in a 12 gauge, they'd hit the target, and there's absolutely no way to know which way the gun would be pointed after that shot. Must likely upward, with the child on the ground on his back, if he kept control of the gun.The only thing a kid under 10 should be shooting is a bolt action rifle that has 0% chance of losing control, one shot per load. Hell my daughter is almost 7 and I just got her a red ryder BB gun and I'm with her 100% of the time. There's no way in hell in a year I'm gonna hand her an uzi in a year to give a whirl. I wouldn't give her a pistol until she's at least 12 and shown very solid control and understanding of firearms. The shorter the gun the quicker shit goes bad.
Welcome to Arizona!people keep saying the uzi was automatic, I'm pretty sure automatic weapons aren't legal unless grandfathered. Semi auto yes but not full auto.
If it was a real uzi, it's automatic I imagine.people keep saying the uzi was automatic, I'm pretty sure automatic weapons aren't legal unless grandfathered. Semi auto yes but not full auto.
Are you saying you don't give fully automatic weapons to elementary students? What idiots all of them
But then the article doesn't make sense. How do you lose control of a weapon that isn't automatic?people keep saying the uzi was automatic, I'm pretty sure automatic weapons aren't legal unless grandfathered. Semi auto yes but not full auto.

I can understand why liberals want automatic weapons banned. If you freak out and hold the trigger down, a semi automatic weapon still only shoots 1 time.
