I still have never watched Star Wars. And it's not just to be different. I like sci-fi in general but there's something about characters in costume and wack makeup that just turns me off. Never watched Star Trek either. Also I don't get how people of our generation can watch a 70s movie.

More realistic movies about Mars, space, apocalypse, aliens, etc I will be the first in line.

Realistic space movies would be boring.
Captain's log, star date 15203: The toilet seat seal failed again, fouling cabin air filters. Water recycling pump throwing hot signal, will need rebuilding tomorrow, assigned task to Ensign Marcia.

I only meant more realistic than a grunting walking Chewbacca. Not NOVA PBS specials.

Meh, I have reality for when I want realism. Give me something fantastical in my entertainment.

So, what was it like not having a childhood?

The Martian pulled it off well.

I was fine with MacGuyver, Knight Rider, and A-Team. Everyone was. Hell I even watched Street Hawk.

I was a little too old when MacGuyver came out. Never got into that one.

I was into Magnum PI and before that it was the Six Million Dollar Man (which looks horribly campy today). I loved Star Wars and Star Trek when I was growing up. I saw Star Wars in the theater when it came out, I was 10 years old, and it just blew me away. I had been watching reruns of the Star Trek TOS on TV for years by then though.

Maybe we can all agree on Baywatch then. See those costumes aren't over the top.

Evidence of wack makeup?

The first two movies I ever seen were Star Wars and Red Dawn. Back in the 80's living in a small shit town of North Dakota my dad would rent, yes rent a VCR from the gas station and that is what we did on the weekends. I must have been at least 5 or 6.

MacGuyver and Quantum Leap were my go to shows at dinner time in the early 90's. My mom would have dinner done right when those two shows came on USA. It was a nightly ritual. Back then USA was the shit! Anyone remember USA's Cartoon Express? Gone are the classics.
