okies, I've had this program for 4 weeks now, and Iam just about to throw the pile of trash out the window.. could anyone hardcore hardware guru please help me out on this one

Okies, I have tried 13 diffrent detonator drivers, and 3 diffrent VIA drivers and dx8.0, and 8.1 rc2 leaving totally 78 combinations.
Fastwrite enabled, and 4x AGP on.

My 3dmark2001 is good (like 6800)

This is/was my "dream" computer.. but it turned out to be like hell:

Asus v8200 deluxe geforce 3
Thunderbird 1,4
Audigy
A7M266 mainboard

I just tried rtcw, and it lags like hell :( I have like 30-40 fps.

Plase help me.. save my neighbours, they'r about getting a pc in their head. (I live in 5th floor)

sorry my bad english

You do realize the A7M266 uses the AMD northbridge? And that you should be using the AMD miniport driver?

Have you tweeked your memory timings to their optimum?

When I installed the motherboard drivers for my 8K7A (which also uses the AMD northbridge), I installed the current VIA 4in1's - except for the AGP drivers and then installed the AMD miniport drivers.

The VIA 4in1's give you the option, during the setup program, as to which of the drivers you want to install.

Here is where you can find the current AMD AGP miniport drivers.

It doesn't make sense that you would get at 6800 in 3DMark2001 and then lag so bad in a game. Are you sure you have set the right video card in the video setup of that game (assuming it has one)?

I would make sure the game isn't running in software emulation.

Anyway good luck.

I would definitely agree with Warcon....check your ingame video settings, also turn off Antialiasing to test, cause 4x really bogs the system down (try Quincux). Other than that, you seem to have tried everyhting i would have thought of.
