I'm into bang for your buck monitors, and so far have only really seen the Dell 1905FP and Hyundai L90D+ as the kind of screens I'd want to purchase. I'm pretty relaxed about what I want, namely:

1. 19" viewable
2. DVI
3. As little ghosting as possible in games (I watch NO movies)
4. Sleek look, ie narrow trim around screen & nice base

I suppose the 16.2m + dithering colors vs. 16.7m colors is sorta important too, but only within a certain price.

Any other monitors I should look at? Which would you buy, the Dell or Hyundai?

First, I wouldn't buy a 19in because the pixel size is bigger than other monitors. Noticeability depending on the user, but I don't know if you would like to take the chance. 17" are decently big, I came from a 19.8" viewable to a 17" and it's not that bad at all. I think it's a huge monitor and I actually feel like a bigger monitor would be overwhelming. But that may depend on user.

Mine has 16.2M colors I think, a dell 1704fpt, I don't notice a difference in games or any apps. I've had it for about 1 week.

I think ghosting is a non-issue these days. My Dell is 12ms and ghosting isn't apparent in games in games at 30fps. At higher fps, there is some ghosting, but not that bad. All LCDs have ghosting at higher framerates anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I know the Samsung 930B is a 16.2 million color monitor, and I think the Hyundai L90D+ is as well. Both are excellent monitors. I wouldn't get too hung up on the 16.2 versus 16.7 million colors

We just got a BenQ FP91G+ at work, and it is very nice - a lot better than mine at home. I was surprised to find out it was a 6-bit panel - it didn't seem like one:

BenQ FP91G+

Here's mine. No ghosting in BF2, HL2, D3, etc etc. Not to mention it LOOKS pretty sitting on my desk. There is also a 19" version available too.

IMO, these monitors are underrated/overlooked.

I would suggest the Samsung Syncmaster 193P. It is AMAZING!! even for a 20ms screen, and even mentioned by AT that its better than Dells counterpart 1905FP, but they use the same panel!!

Thanks for the responses, that BenQ FP91G+ looks quality as well, so I guess now I have to decide between 3 lcds. I guess it will be whoever has a good sale soon 🙂 More than likely Dell since they always run promos.

The problem with LG is price, which is funny considering their panels are used in Dell and Apple's LCDs, yet bother are priced lower than LG.

NEC MultiSync LCD1970GX-BK

Nope, it's not ultra-cheap. But it the nicest 19" LCD out there 🙂

Has an integrated 4-port USB 2.0 hub, DVI, height adjust (up/down), & features the beautiful Opticlear screen finish (just like Sony's X-Brite).
