Came from Mom2Eric at a site where you can "leap onto good prices" --
Good - no rebate hassles
Bad - Not quite as cheap as other places
Questionable - what speed???? (my guess 2100 guess we'll see)

Where are you looking?

I also see:

512MB DDR PC2700 333MHz 184pin DIMM Samsung
512MB DDR 266 PC2100 266MHz 184pin DIMM ECC
512MB DDR 266 PC2100 266MHz 184pin DIMM ECC REG

and none of them have a price of $39.95 yet. So the question remains.

I suspect you've picked the right module, but I don't see where it's been stated as such.

As the original post stated, and their email stated.

DUH!

I think Labgeek's response was to answer the question about the chip types and not when the sale is going to occur.

He did post the info and he also said "yet". This would indicate to me that he is fully aware of when the sale is going to occur.

DUH!

Thanks, I was about to post in reply to the "Golden" member above you but then I thought "Why?". It is ironic that he post about reading comprehension skills though. As he apparently missed a couple key points.

You should be able to get away with the PC2100 variety parts. Dell machines don't overclock.

I sure hope this place is legit.

I was pleasantly surprised that they offer a US Mail option for shipping RAM. Way to save money on shipping. ($5 shipping.)

It's past 11am Pacific time, and the only memory I can find on sale is the 256K PC2100 DDR for $19.99.

I was hoping I can get some 512K PC2700 DDR on sale. Oh, well! 🙁

I've bought from them a few times with no problems. They do a lot of unusual refurb items.
Thier resellerratings aren't great though. http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1782.html
5.28 6 month, 4.74 lifetime averages

7.65 Pricing of Products and Services
5.44 Likelihood of Future Purchases
4.12 Shipping and Packaging
7.86 Technical Support
10.00 Return or Replacement

Seems like thier shipping/packaging and likelyhood of future purchases are hurting them pretty bad.

If you're going to buy anyway, always take a look at the free item (*you pay shipping):

Wonder what these 15" TFT Flat Panels are like for $129??

Specs from their site:

Compaq TFT 5010 15in. Flat Panel - No Cords
Features:
These units work perfectly but they are missing both the power and monitor cords(CSO does not stock).
The Compaq TFT5010 flat panel monitor is the world's most flexible flat panel monitor. It is the high-performance true 15-inch display that adjusts to you and your work.
15.1" viewable image size
Brightness of 200 nits
.30 pixel pitch
1024 x 768 resolution
Dazzling active matrix display with 16.7 million colour palette delivers more vibrant images/ and sharper focus than standard CRT monitors.
An impressive 200 nits - outshines standard CRT monitors.
Units are used but are in "as brand new" condition"
Note: These are missing the backplate for the back of the base
Monitor only - No cords or documentation

Wonder how different their power and monitor cords are from other monitors.

They MAY require a laptop adapter type of power... As for video cable, maybe it's DVI so they don't have any of those?

got my my ram and remarably it runs at 166 no problem !! 😀 didn't require any more voltage but I uped it a tenth just for a bit more stability
