May 16 Who saw the rocket?

Wife and I saw it for a few seconds, pretty cool and very bright. We did not see anything else but still was a good time and my wife typically misses events like this, I am happy she saw it.

I did not see it, was tracking it on a site, and it looked like it was reentering around Australia, then I accidentally refreshed the page and it was reentering somewhere else, so at that point I no longer knew what was going on as clearly the site was not very accurate lol.

I like how China is acting like it was normal and that people were woring for nothing. Clearly something went wrong in the last moments. Normally you retro burn so it can land sooner, and in a controlled manner. I even wonder if the space station ended up where they wanted. Then again this is China we're talking about, they don't exactly care about the rest of the world.

What? Entirely wrong discussion. Anyways you're in Canuck, you'll probably never see a rocket launch.

I am very disappointed with the lack of space nerds in here.
Keeping up with rocket launches is something i'm not used to doing. Never even knew it was possible to see them from here.

It orbited the earth several times so there is a chance it would have passed here.
From you 1st post it sounded like you were talking about the Chinese re-entry of the out of control rocket.
OP was talking about a new launch. Seeing a launch & seeing a dot going across the sky are different things.

Oh I thought he was talking about the Chinese one, since it was vague, I just assumed it was that since that's the one everyone's been talking about.

A few years ago after a trip to Disney, I decided to spend another night before driving home in Daytona...so we got a room on the beach and extended our trip one night. We went to a restaurant to grab some food and I went into the men's room. While I was standing there doing my business this guy said, "hey buddy, wanna see a rocket launch?" Of course I was eyeballing the exit to get out of there because I thought he was just a weirdo in the bathroom, but then he told me SpaceX was sending one up.

I got out my phone and checked the launch status and they went through a number of delays while we dined. The restaurant had a great vantage point because it was on the intercoastal waterway, but we went to play mini golf and ended up seeing it from the course. Was pretty neat.
