Maxtor's external firewire hdd

Hi,
Does anyone have any experience good/bad about the Maxtor external hard drive? either the USB 2.0 or Firewire version. Any problems with Windows, setting up etc.? Plan to get one soon, so any feedback is really appreciated. Thanks.
 
Have a Western Digital firewire HD for my laptop. Works great, no trouble getting it working, and it seems plenty fast.

Not sure what the Maxtors are using these days, but I personally wouldn't get any external hard drive without the Oxford 911 chipset. It's the fastest.
