if you are not sure, call maxtor and find out.. they will ask you some questions, to identify the drive.. and then tell you when the warranty expires.. I have done it a couple of times, over the last 10 years.. they are really good about it. infact, you can get a replacement drive asap, by giving the a credit card#, and they will ship your new (refurb) drive out to you right away.. then if you don't return your old drive within 30 days, they charge your credit card.. but be careful when sending the drive back, and use a delivery service that allows you to track the return package, so you can be sure, and have proof that you returned it.. I had them charge me for one of my drive replaments, only to have to credit me when I gave them the UPS tracking number, that clearly stated that it was delivered to them.
