In my secondary system I have a 80GB Maxtor HD that is partitioned as follows: 7.5GB Win2k, 7GB Linux, 486MB Swap, and the remaining part of the drive as NTFS storage. I have tried to install RH9 several times and each time it has failed. When formatting the Linux partiton RH9 gives me an error saying that there are bad blocks on the drive yet Maxtor's diagnostic utility says there is nothing wrong with the drive.
This was with the full drive scan in Maxtor's utility. Is there some thing in RH9 that is causing this error or is my drive bad. I would normally send it bacl to Maxtor but I can't since it tests fine. The drive is on a MSI BX Master board on the Promise IDE controller with a Celeron 300 running at 450MHz if that makes any difference.
