Hi all. I have a p4p800 deluxe mobo with 5 ata/133 drives and one SATA drive. Two of the ATA drives are connected to the mobos built in IDE controller, the other 3 ATA drives are connected to a PCI ATA/133 controller and the 250gb SATA drive is connected to the built in SATA controller on the mobo. When I run sisandra 2004's HD benchmark on all my drive except the SATA drive all is ok and within the HDs spec. But, when I run it on the SATA (my boot drive BTW) it takes over 20 mins to complete, I see no HD activity light and when it actually does finish I get a score of 4mbs. Other then that I have no issues with the SATA drive except if I copy a largish file to another drive it takes longer than if I copy the same file to and from my other drives. Like say I copy a 200 meg file from my SATA drive to one of my other 5 drives it'll take 2-3 times longer than if I copy the same file from one of my ATA drives to another ATA drive. Whats up with that? I am running winxp sp1 with all the latest patches. All my apps that are on the SATA drive load fast and run perfectly. Anyone have a clue as to why this is happening? Thanks.:brokenheart:

Nevermind. I switch the SATA cable to the secondery connector and all is ok. I guess the first connector is somehow bad. I was getting benchmarks at 3.4mbs with both sisandra and with hdtach with a cpu load of over 50%! Now that I switched to the other channel I get 120-151mbs in both programs with a cpu load of 3%. Now I wonder whats up with the first SATA controller.

I was going to suggest moving to the second set of SATA pins and/or changing out your cable for it in case it was defective. I had a similar issue as I run SATA on RAID 0 array with two Seagate Barracuda drives and they tested slow. I changed out one of the cables that just didnt seat tightly on the pins and the drives fly now.
