Maxtor RMA replacement policy?

My Maxline II hard drive failed within a few weeks of owning it. I did the online RMA report thing. I also opted for that delivery or RMA thing where you give them your CC.

Does anyone know if they send me a drive first then I send the drive back or do I have to still send the drive first? I honestly didn't get any e-mail stating they will be sending anything out so I'm guessing I have to send it in first? What was the purpose of giving them my CC#? There was the option NOT TO give my CC# and then there was the option to give them my CC#. Any ideas?

they'll send you a drive and you have 30 days to send the defective one back. If you don't return the defective one on time they will charge you for it with your CC. They're just covering their butts. Reuse the box and packing to return the bad drive.
