I hesitate between Seagate 40 Go Barracuda IV (ST34001A) and Maxtor
D740X (6L040J2; less noisy model 6L040L2 undoubtedly is more
difficult to find here).
I lean for Seagate because it is more quiet (a bit less powerful than Maxtor).
BUT it heats more than Maxtor.
Is this a problem knowing that I do not want to add a fan on the PC case (no point using a quiet disc if is to add noise from elsewhere)?
(currently the PC contains 1 modem card, a Radeon, 1 SB Live! (all this does not heat much), an IBM disc DTTA 350840, a CD burner, a DVD reader and a PIII 850 with Molex fan; only case fan is the one from the power unit)
