Maxtor or Western Digital hard drive?

By the way I've had a string of bad incidents with IBM hard drives.. Three died on me (2 in my system, one in my sister's).. I doubt this is typical (they have a good rep) but it's a bit odd if you ask me.. I've had WD's fail on me as well but have never had a problem with my Maxtors or my new samsung.. To be fair, WD quickly RMAd the broken drive and it's currently in my system right now..

all have performed awesome.

only time i've had a drive fail .. was installing a WD retail and it was DOA.

Western Digital. I don't use many IDE drives though. I prefer SCSI.

Lol! Good reputation!!! Haven't you heard of the 60gxp (or whatever) fiasco?? An entire line of bad disks. It all but put IBM out of business.

I love my seagate. Quite a nice drive, but I've never seen them as bargain priced drives.

Western Dig. They're the most durable. All of the Big Four are nice though. However I don't like the 20-40 gig Maxtors (skinny drives).
