What's the difference between the 3 different Diamond max plus drive series? Anything major to be concerned with when making a purchasing decsin?
 
certain models are like ata/66 vs 100 and 5400 vs 7200.. check before you buy but some of the higher capacity are usually 5400...
 
All plus models are 7200 rpm. The major difference is the platter density. They are all UDMA 66 but if the model number has an "H" in it, it is UDMA 100.
 
On paper...
DM+40, 10GB platters, 7200rpm, 9.0ns access time
DM+45, 15GB platters, 7200rpm, 8.7ns access time
DM+60, 20GB platters, 7200rpm, 8.7ns access time

On benchmarks...
DM+40, 14.0ns(after latency), STR 30MB/sec beginning, 19MB/sec end. WinMark99, Business 7380, High-End 15700
DM+45, 12.9ns, STR 33MB/sec, 21MB/sec, 7840, 18700
DM+60, 13.1ns, STR 39MB/sec, 23MB/sec, 8193, 20333

The DM+60 is the best of the three.
