Right now I have one 15.3GB Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 40 ATA66 7200RPM hard drive that I'm using 5GB of. I use to have a 2nd one but gave that to my sister since she had an older slower 5400RPM drive.
Should I upgrade to a 60GB 7200 D740X? I'm thinking it would be a little bit faster than what I have now... and I could throw on multiple operating systems and not have to worry about formatting/reinstalling as often... who knows maybe I'll actually just install Linux and XP once and leave em alone. That'd be a first. ;)
I mainly play games, surf the net, etc. But I'm not into the MP3 or Warez scenes anymore so my hard drive stays relatively clutter free. The only reason I'd be getting the 60GB is because outpost.com has em in stock for $89.95 which is roughly $10 more than the 20GB model. Why not order from newegg? Because I want it here tomorrow and only Outpost.com can deliver that fast. :)
I don't know how much of a speed increase I'd notice... I'm just more worried about not having a 2nd drive anymore to keep back ups on.
BTW incase anyone cares it'd be going in my Iwill KK266+R, 1.4GHz Tbird, 384MB PC133 SDRAM, 8500le 128MB system running Windows XP pro and maybe Mandrake 8.2.

Edit - N/M I think I'm going to hold off... I keep thinking about SCSI. Since I want the most speed and space isn't an issue a nice U160 18.4GB 10K III or X15 should do quite well. ;)
