Maxtor Atlas IV compatibility issue?

I'm new to the forum, and I am wondering if a Maxtor Atlas IV 10k Hard drive is compatible with a MSI k8n Neo platinum motherboard for socket 754 athlons?

Unless the mobo has a 68pin lvd scsi controller on board, you'll need to get a pci scsi adapter. ie LSI u160 @ newegg ~$32
