If anybody remembers I had a thread recently about a strange problem that just started happening in which if I restart while I have my fsb oc'd to about any amount I get a 50/50 chance the monitor loses signal and I have to hit reset again...Have the problem happen at certain times and I get registry errors and such. Go back to default speed NO PROBS!!!!
I ruled out cpu, vid card, and other devices as I had ran 110 fsb for 3 months solid with not a error or problem...Regardless I did reseat and check them all.
I then ruled out ram by testing ram taking some out putting in diff configs, plus 2 out of 3 sticks were in originally when I did 110 for months.
I then ruled out PS as I went back to old PS that worked fine for those months plus this new one had worked fine for a few weeks.
So I have narrowed it down to the placement of the maxtor ata100 controller card. I haven't removed it yet but I am wondering have people had good success with fsb ocing with this pci card? What speeds? How about the promise card?
