I recently bought a Maxtor ATA100 pci card and a new hard drive for my system. I'm currently running and Athlon Slot A 800 on an Asus K7V board. I have the most recent BIOS that was released from Asus, but I seem to have run into a small problem. I can't boot win 2k unless i have a hard drive hooked to the primary IDE controller on the board as master. it seems that when i install 2000 it will put the boot loader on that drive and that is the only wayh i can boot. i've tried setting my bios to boot from SCSI. however as soon as it detects my 2 hard drives plugged into the ata100 card, it say press a key to reboot. every time. i have no idea what to do. i wanted to get rid of my drive that is attached to the motherboard but at this point i can't. and currently i have too many drivs to try and disable my onboard controllers. i need help. i have no idea what to try.
below is my system. ideas of any sort would be helpful.
