1MB/s transfer rates, 50% CPU utilization. That is horrible. I had a 200MB turd, I always thought that thing seemed abnormally slow. I know people that download faster than 1MB/s from certain servers. Haha.
 
In 1993 I had a 14.4 kbps modem and connected to most BBS' at 2400! The drive bottleneck was never really an issue back then. The price of hardware was pretty absurd as well in comparison to today. Just imagine 8 years from now!
