maxtor 30gb, promise ultra66 and win2k......dma?

This drive seems dog slow in w2k, and there's no "use dma if available" box for it or the promise card in device manager. W2k is using a microsoft driver for the drive....is there a different driver for it on maxtor's website somewhere? I couldn't find one. I'm using the 1.60 w2k driver for the promise card. Anyone else run into this problem? BTW, this is the 7200rpm drive and it smoked in WinMe.

I've got the same problem. I have Maxtor DiamondMax 60GB ATA100 and on WinME it scored me 18500 in Sandra, in W2k I get 12000 (13000 is average for ATA66 so it says). Got the Windows driver intalled also. I installed Via ATA100 hotfix and updated via drivers to 4.28.
