I got my Quantum Rebate. Took about two months.

Quantum drive is bare OEM. This Maxtor is a full retail drive. I think both are a fantastic deal. If you're less technically inclined, I'd suggest getting this Maxtor.

Don't think you can go wrong here.

I think mine's retail, LOL. It came in a brown box, I don't think there were any papers. I don't think there'd be MIRs if it was OEM...

Err. Whatever... heh.

I like maxtor drives because they are quieter. Quantum is a tad faster I think. Well it's been 2.5 months and no rebate check but it is good to hear that some peopel have gotten theirs. I can sleep tonight knowing that I will get my rebate check heehhe.

I couldn't find the $30 rebate for the Maxtor, you sure Maxtor currently has rebate for this 30gig hard drive?

I have both these drives (Max-Quan)in my computer. The Quantum seems to be a bit quieter..and that is all the difference I notice.

I bought 2 of the Quantums, one of the cheaper ones for my Tivo, and the LM. The rebate came within a month for the cheap one, and am waiting on 2 1/2 months now for the LM.

I just bought another of the LM's last week...like money in the bank I guess.
