i wouldn't exactly call this a smoking deal. but its certainly not too bad either. its got good specs, 16mb cache.

Yeah, $160 + Shipping is definitely Not a good deal. It is not really close to the $.50 per GB rule. The extra cache does not justify the extra cost either.

This of course, it all just my opinion

Yep, picked one of these up from Fry's last Saturday. It's been running good for my video file server.
