I searched and it doesn't look like this is a repost.

Item #447679

$159- 40 MIR - 20 instant savings = $99

Rebate

I think there is a valid $20 off $100 coupon floating around (e.g. FW), I validated it and it was accepted to make the drive $80+tax.

Good deal. I got mine at this cost last time. It holds tons of stuff; biggest drive I've seen that you can get at 50c a gig. The MIR is smaller this time too.

Be sure to choose in-store pickup because the online price may be a bit more (last time the online price differed by $20).

There's actually a number of coupons available. Look around on Google. I see 4 of them on this certain bargain site :)

Tried multiple coupons, my bet is they have this item setup to not accept other promotions.
OOPS, tried another coupon and it worked! Thanks for the hot deal.

I placed the order online, and used the coupon, for local pick-up. Then went and picked it up w/o any problems. Also, got my dvd's they'd been holding for me.

I can get all the way to the place order with it showing the coupon has been applied. The coupon expires 9/30 and I found it on a well known deal site forum that was mentioned in my original post.

Most likely no ATA card. My Maxtor 160GB from the last similar deal did not have one. But as long as your bios is relatively new and you have XPSP1 or 2kSP3 you're pretty much set.

Don't forget ebates 2% off $99 or fatcash for 2.2% off $99. Ok, so it isn't that much but at least it will cover some of the tax (which is high for me 10%!!!)

There is a link at techbargains that will bring the total down to $80. Last time I got in on this deal was with $80 rebate and the total was the same.

I posted this deal up last night at FW, but not here. I can say that it is unnecessary to add an item to bump your order over $100. Remember that $40 rebate isn't deducted from your order instantly. After all, it's a $40 mail in rebate. So you're basically wasting $0.33+tax on the item that you included in your order. Your order should be well over $100 anyways. You're paying $139.84+tax already. That's well over $100 order. So for anybody who's doing this deal, don't add anything else to get over $100. It's misleading.

EDIT: Use item #808873 ($0.33 paper clips) to bump your order over $100.

You're right....momentarily lapse of thought on my part; however, I wouldn't say it was "misleading." Thanks for correcting me.

I cannot get registered! I keep getting an error why I try to register, and when I try to use the coupon. I guess they don't want my money....

Best thing is to use the hassle free techbargains link and the code that they give on their website.

Let's just say it's "misinformed" then if you think misleading is too strong for you. I'm not here to bash you for ripping people off, but just trying to say that adding an unnecessary item to put over $100 wasn't necessary. :)
