maxline III vs diamondmax 10?

It appears that both offer NCQ, sata II features and 16megs cache, that the maxline III is more for business and diamonmax 10 is more for home, but also that maxline III can be found for cheaper then diamondmax 10. So my question is what are the real differences and which drive is better? By better I mean, more features and faster, plus if one is native sata and the other is bridged then native would be better.

They're the exact same drive with a different sticker on the top, and sold to different market segments.

If that?s the case, why can I buy the maxline III for less then the same size diamonmax10 from zzf? Shouldn?t the drive sold to businesses be more expensive?

They're both maxtors....so who cares? They both suck and will fail on you w/in a couple of years.

imho, wait until someone else comes out w/16mb cache instead of blowing your money now.

I would prefer a wd with 16megs cache and ncq, but buying a new drive within the week and it appears that the diamondmax has significant advantages over any other 7200rpm drive and space is important so a raptor wouldnt work

We'll see if space is more important than you data in a couple years. 🙂

Go for it....but don't say I didn't warn you. I've had TOO much experience w/maxtor!
