MAXIMUS VI GENE audio vs Xonar DX

Hi all

I'm about to buy a new computer and I want to know your opinion on the audio of the MAXIMUS VI GENE and how it compares to a Xonar DX.

I always had a discrete sound board and I don't want to hear scratching sounds when my hard disks are working.

If it helps my GENE IV never had sound issue. Using headphone plug or optical

What do you connect to, and what kind of connection?

It's only analog connections that pick up noise from the CPU, etc. -- HDMI and optical digital don't pick up RFI.

I plan to connect an analog stereo cable to the rear line out connector.

I use it to connect to a hi-fi with a pair of good speakers.

Does your hi-fi (receiver) have an optical digital input? If yes, then you can use the optical out on any motherboard or sound card without worries about static, hum, etc.
