I built this computer about 8 months ago:
Intel 9650 Quad
4 x 1Gb OCZ Flex memory
9800 GX2
X-Fi soundcard
850W Powersupply
Vista64
It worked fine for 6 months, then one day we lost power while it was in "sleep mode". upon restart it would go to the dratted DET DRAM msg and hang.
I switched memory around (removed and added) with no change. Then I switched the video card to a 8800GT and it posted. After that, I put everything back to original hardware configuration and all was fine.
Fast forward to last week. While re-wiring the house I went and turned off the Main power (of course I forgot the computer was in sleep mode). Now I am back to the dratted DET DRAM msg and hang. All fans, cards, etc fire up, but no post
I tried my old tricks, switching memory around (including some memory from diff computer - but same OCZ flex) and swaping out video cards. I have searched the forums and only found some post about setting the NB voltage to 1.4v(?) and some other remedies, but these dont seem to apply here since my board / hardware combination has been working for months before the power snafu.
Any suggestions / guidance are greatly appreciated. I'll try anything and I'm running out of ideas (I hope my house wiring skills are better than computer trouble shooting
Thanks
