Maximum PC magazine "Geek Quiz"

Hi all.

Did anyone else take the quiz? I did and got pwned - only scored 46. I found a lot of the questions pretty tough & technical but I guess that's the whole point. Still fairly interesting though imho.

I took it a lot of the questions were easy but a lot were like "I never knew those words could be used like that in a sentence" personally I felt quite pwnt after taking it.

hmm tried finding a link, even checked their forums. apparently it's only in the magazine which i find strange. if they put the quiz online they could publish average scores and other results. prizes for highest scores would be ideal. wouldn't seem like rocket science to the editors of a PC magazine, but what do i know...

Here is one question from the quiz

Who created an algorithm for ultra-secure hard drive data erasure?
A. Perry Schneier
B. Peter Gutmann
C. Zuzana Licko
D. Rudy Vanderlans

I got that one wrong.

it be B

I took it last week, and scored a 70. I ripped through the software and business questions with few problems, but some of those hardware questions are INSANELY hard. Some of the others are virtually impossible if you haven't built a new computer within the last 9 months.
