Maximum Number of Activations?

When I reinstall windows it says I have reached the maximum number of times I can activate this copy of windows. I have to call them up to activate it. Is this going to happen everytime I reinstall windows or can I like say I am going to be reinstalling windows frequently in the future and they will increase the number of times I can activate it?

It'll probably happen every time. Just don't reinstall so much, or reinstall every 29 or fewer days.

Are they going to eventually stop me from doing this?

I doubt they would ever stop you - you should always be able to phone up and they will activate it for you. How come you are reinstalling so often?

I think the count resets after 120 days.

AFAIK, Microsoft tries to prevent piracy of their stuff especially with harddrive cloning. They will sometimes require a reactivation, but never in the case of component upgrades like RAM, optical drives, or maybe processor. I've never had a problem with reactivation. If it's a legal product, a 8 minute phone call is AOK with me.

^Its definately legal. I payed 90 bucks for it a while back.
