Approx. what is the maximum length that an ethernet cable can be ran without having some type of signal booster on it ?

How many feet ?

Thanks.

90 meters of solid core wire with 5 meters stranded patch cord on each end for a total link length of 100 meters. Yes, that detail matters.

You should also note that the standard max is for 90 meters of solid-core cable punched down to keystone jacks on each end, and a 5 meter stranded patch cable on each end to connect from the keystone to device you are connecting.

edit: beat me to it!

It's a common misconception - "why does my 100 foot patch cord give me crappy, flaky performance and general 'weirdness'."
