when connecting two computers using two dsl "modems" and a phone wire do you have to use a cross-over phone wire (if such a thing exists)?
 
You can't connect two DSL modems to each other directly, there is no way to do this. If you have two external USB DSL Modems, I'm sorry. If you have two Internal DSL modems I feel sorry for you. If you have two external (non-USB) then why not use a crossover cable between the two NICs directly instead of the Modems?
