ok, this board has been sitin around for a while and now that i want to slap a new cpu into it, the ones available for decent price are clocked higher than what the tech specs say it can handle.... can it go higher? does anyone know.... here is a link to the soyo website for conveinience...

the highest is supposed to be 2.8 for celerons... I want to put a 2.93 or 3.06 in it, does anyone know if this is possible or are those specs really the most it can take?

any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

I have this board and a Celeron D 340 (2.93GHz) that I can test. Give me a day to get them installed and I'll report back. Shouldn't be a problem with P4 support up to 3.4GHz.

I got a successful POST with a Celeron D 340 using the latest BIOS (4AA1) and am running Memtest86 right now. If or when it successfully completes a couple passes of Memtest86, I'll install XP Home SP2 as a more extensive test and report back.

EDIT: OK, I fell asleep last night and woke up to find that Memtest86 had completed 6 passes on 1GB (2 x 512MB) with no errors. XP is installing right now.
