Maximize/minimize windows from taskbar?

I know this is in the wrong forum, but I can't seem to maximize/minimize any windows from the taskbar. What gives?

hmm. what have you tried? the desktop icon in the quick launch toolbar and right-click on task bar and minimize all? if all else fails, you can always reinstall SP1 for WinXP if that's what you're running.

I've checked folder options and IE options, nothing...

I should mention that I can maximize/minimize by using the appropriate buttons in the top right-hand corner, but just not from the taskbar.

So you can't right click and minimize/maximize the running application in the task bar? Is that what I'm getting? Or you can minimize/show desktop from the taskbar (ie.-no Quick Launch toolbar)?

Sorry, I should be more specific.

I can maximize/minimize by using the appropriate buttons in the top right-hand corner, and right-clicking the window works as well, but when I attempt to left-click the window once it does not maximize or minimize.

Are you using the default WinXP shell or a modded one? I have used a few OS skins in WinXP that caused the clickable area for those buttons to be slightly off. To minimize I would have to click slightly to the left of the minimize button to get it to minimize.

Yeah, it's the default skin, no mod. I've attempted rebooting and that doesn't solve the problem. Thanks for helping, I appreciate it.
