Max voltage on a P4 "C" chip?

Alright, I just recently (yesterday) returned to the realm of the P4 by purchasing an 865PE mobo and 2.4C cpu.

I see that it starts out at 1.525v and my motherboard has voltage options all the way up to 1.950v. I don't think that much voltage is going to be safe for my system, but I am curious what the maximum rated voltage these new cores will withstand with substantial cooling. I plan on hooking my watercooling system back up once my Maze3 top shows and can be mounted.

Thanks for the help.

I have mine at 1.7 volts. I have read anything over that is good no matter if the temps are fine. It's called overvolting and would kill the chip fast. Just what I have heard. If any can prove me otherwise I would like to know also so I can go higher 🙂 .

I also have a Danger Den block Maze4 Lucite. Good Luck have fun tweaking.

heh, i get lower temps then u do, and im on air cooling, slk-900u. ive ran mine at 1.7v before / 250fsb, getting the 3.25ghz, was at 32c idle about 44c full load. currently im at 3.0ghz with my 2.6c, i get the same temps i did at 3.25ghz.
