Max Voltage for Opteron 175?

So far I have been able to stably run my Shuttle SN95G5 with an Opteron 175 @ 2.7 GHz (actually 2.69) but had to bump the voltage to 1.525. Is there any danger in doing this?

I had to bump my HTT from 5x down to 4x (but 4x times 245 FSB = 980) and my memory is now 192MHz.

Speaking of which I have my memory at 166MHz since my system BIOS doesn't offer 183Mhz as an option. How do you calculate the Memory speed?

on air I'd say 1.55V is safe.

On high end air a bit more, and water 1.65V .

Just remember to monitor temps.

Thanks... My temps when running prime95 on both cores is 44-45 consistently. So is it more about the temps than the voltage that I have to worry about? Will too much voltage fry the chip even if lower temperatures???

higher voltage would usually be long term damages........but if the voltage is TOO high, it would instantly fry the chip. IMO, you should just run it at 2600Mhz since 100mhz with that huge increase in voltage isn't worth it, you'll barely tell the difference from 100mhz.

So you're saying 1.525 is too high?

I've read that it is considered "safe" up to 1.55v and above that is at your own risk. But will heed your advice.

But if 100Mhz will hardly be missed, what is the point in overclocking? I guess 2.6 GHz is 400 MHz over stock (2.2 GHz) but 100 MHz is still an additional 5% increase in clock speed.
