My one stays at around 39-44 C, and its also pretty hot. Im not 100% sure on this but i think they can run as hot as 80 C (even though you wouldnt want it to get warmer than 60 or so). Iv been playing around with the cooling setup in my case, and the only way to really cool this thing down is by mounting a 120mm-80mm fan in front of it. I tried that by just holding a low rpm 120mm in front on it ( not right in front, on the side closest to the cases left side opening) and that dropped temps down to 20-26C.
Your chipset temps are fine, and im sure mine are too. I havent had any instability problems and i have had this pc running almost 24/7 for the last 3 months. I want to cool mine down because that area in my pc is already pretty warm with my 7800gtx sitting right above it.
You could also replate the passive heatpipe setup with some other third party chipset cooler, but since the chipset is so close the the first pci x16 slot anything bigger than whats already there wouldnt really work well.
30C? HOT???? WHAT?!?!?! My goodness, whats wrong here?? 24C is around room temperature....36C is 98F....not hot at all.....videocards can hit 80 C (176F) though my 7800GT maxes around 65C overclocked while running rthdribl
