Max safe P4 voltage?

I've recalled comments about processors being killed by too much voltage. What's a safe level?
 
I killed one at 1.83v as reported by pcprobe on an asus sis mobo....Who knows how accuate the measurement was coming off of that board....


I think 1.7v is safe and 1.75v is starting to push it...

I have been running 1.71v actual idle since beginning of june now...See rig below...It loads at 1.6v in prime95...


NOt a hint of an issue to date...
