Max safe core temp/external temp for an overclocked opteron 165??

I have a dual core opteron 165 set at 310x9 @ 1.35V and with the IHS removed and a Zalman CNPS9500 cooler with the fan set to 2100 RPM.

Coretemp reports core #0 getting to 51 degrees C and core #1 getting to 54-55 degrees C. Asus PC Probe reports a CPU temp of 46-47 degrees C. I was curious as to what the max safe temps (core and external) are for this CPU?

Thanks :)

BTW, this is the same opteron I had a problem with temps before but now the IHS removed has really helped that alot.

How big was the difference with the IHS removed? I was thinking of picking up a 165 for my home server.

Before removing the IHS I had stock volts, stock speed, and the coretemps were reading 56 degrees C under load after only a couple minutes :Q This wasn't with the stock cooler either!

Removed the IHS, got a 10 degree drop in temps! Now, with the IHS gone and running at 2.84GHz with stock volts I'm running max of 52-53 degrees under load.

Mine was just a really bad mount apparently, so try with the IHS on first. What signaled a bad IHS mount on mine was the sudden 15 degree increase from 36 to 51 degrees after putting it under load for only 5-10 seconds and topping out at 56-57. Something that drastic is a sure sign of a bad mount.

Hmm, I might consider doing this with my chip. I can overclock higher, but even with my Big Typhoon at maximum speed my CPU hits over 60C and I notice that that's the point where overclocks become affected by heat.
